Both these videos prove the 'Male Gaze' theory because they present woman as objects rather than people. The women in these videos are also seen as trophies that the men are competing over.
These two videos disprove Mulvey's theory because:
- They are both shown as being in control of the situation.
- They are also essential to the videos, without them in it, the videos would not make sense.
- They both might want to be seen as sexual objects
- It might make them feel liberated and dominant.
- The 'gaze' can be directed at the same gender as the artist.
- Not all men view women as sexual objects.
- It doesn't take into consideration gay people
- They might be using their bodies to be noticed
